Paralegal Intern, Molly Steiner, Volunteers At Fox Valley Free Legal Assistance Clinic

On behalf of Peterson, Berk & Cross, S.C.

Molly Steiner is one of the founding members of Fox Valley Technical College’s Paralegal Student Organization. This is a newly started organization on campus as of the fall of 2016. This organization and its advisor, Christine O’Brien, run and operate the Fox Valley’s Free Legal Aid Clinics at local libraries in Menasha, Neenah and Oshkosh and at the FVTC campus in Appleton. Molly currently volunteers at the Appleton location held once a month on a Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

At the clinics Molly assists with greeting clients, gathering intake information, initial intake interviews, finding the correct forms the client needs regarding their case, and taking individuals to meet with attorneys. During the initial interviews, Molly reviews the intake form with the client and determines if there are any state forms needed. After reviewing the intake, Molly listens to the client’s concerns and answers any non-legal questions. Molly also goes over any forms with the client to make sure they properly fill them out and know what they need to fill out. After the intake portion is over, the client may see an attorney when one is available, if needed.
