Land Rover recalls 2013-2014 Range Rovers for airbag malfunction

Some motorists in Wisconsin may have recently received a recall notification from Land Rover. Due to possibly defective airbags, Land Rover has been notifying owners of certain 2013 and 2014 models of the Range Rover SUV. Currently 3,912 vehicles are affected by the announcement nationwide.

Dialing, texting while driving dangerous, especially for teens

Drivers in Wisconsin and around the U.S. have new data to consider after a new study revealed that, especially for teen drivers, dialing or reaching for a cell phone is far more dangerous than simply speaking on the phone. The study, conducted by the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute, was a real-world study that looked at aspects of in-car cell phone use other than voice conversation.

NHTSA announce plan to improve safety for elderly drivers

Wisconsin drivers may be interested to learn that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, or NHTSA, announced on Dec. 8 a plan that will help elderly drivers be safer while driving. According to the report, elderly drivers are actually the safest group that uses national roadways but, as the number of elderly drivers increases, they also are becoming more at risk for injuries and death.

Professional drivers also struggled to control Porsche

The details of the accident that killed Paul Walker of "Fast and Furious" fame are reasonably well-known at this point. However, another fact about the car accident is beginning to emerge, and it's coming from the world of professional drivers. They have known for many years that the Porsche Carrera GT was especially difficult to drive, and some even called it dangerous.

Honda minivan owners cautioned on brakes in recall announcement

Appleton drivers of Honda Motor Company minivans should be aware that the car maker announced plans to recall some 344,000 of its Odyssey models. The recall was over concerns about a software problem that made the vehicle's brakes unexpectedly engage, which could cause auto accidents. The glitch could make it possible for the system known as the Vehicle Stability Assist to apply the brakes on its own under certain conditions. No crashes due to the bug had been reported.

Deaths and injuries in Wisconsin car accident

Two women were traveling east on State Highway 16 in a black Nissan when their car left the road and crossed over the median of the highway where they ran into an oncoming vehicle. The accident occurred in Waukesha County on Sept. 9. Both the women in the Nissan died as a result of the crash.
