Mayfly swarm causes 3-car accident in Wisconsin

Wisconsin motorists know to be ready for anything on the road. In wintertime, this means snow, ice and sleet, which can make streets and highways slippery. Drivers who do not adjust by slowing down and allowing for more following distance risk getting into a car accident.

Wisconsin car crash results in injuries to both drivers

In Mukwa, Wis., two drivers were rushed to the hospital after their cars collided on Wisconsin Highway 54. The Waupaca County Sheriff's Department reports that a 51-year-old woman was exiting a private driveway and attempting to cross the highway when she lost control of her SUV. The accident occurred when a 66-year-old man traveling eastbound on the highway swerved to attempt to avoid colliding with the SUV. However, his vehicle ultimately collided with the driver's side of the SUV, which ejected the woman from her vehicle.

Anti-stacking law benefitted Wisconsin accident victim

In 2010, a driver with multiple car insurance policies was involved in a drunk driving accident in which the other driver was uninsured. Luckily for the injured driver, he was still able to use a 2009 Wisconsin law, which was repealed in 2011, to his benefit.

Oshkosh man kills one in 2nd OWI accident

While all fatal auto accidents are tragic, they are especially tragic when the driver is drinking and has previous OWI convictions. This was the case in a recent crash that killed an 80-year-old man and injured his 81-year-old female passenger. The driver responsible for that accident was cited for drunk driving for the second time.The accident occurred in Nekimi, a town in Winnebago County, and involved a 57-year-old driver who collided with another vehicle driven by the victim. The victim died and his passenger was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver who caused the accident was also treated for minor injuries at a local hospital.
