the state organization of lawyers practicing personal injury law, and he has lectured extensively to the trial bars of Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, and nationally. He has been elected as the Wisconsin Delegate to the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and served as the President of Wisconsin Academy of Trial Lawyers in 1995. Since 1990, he has been certified in civil trial advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He has received the highest possible rating by the preeminent, national, legal directory, Martindale-Hubbell, and in multiple polls of the northeast Wisconsin bar he has been selected as one of the area's best personal injury and civil rights lawyers. In 2001, he was recognized as the Robert L. Habush Trial Lawyer of the Year in the State of Wisconsin. John resides in Appleton with his wife, Marti Hemwall, a Dean at Lawrence University. He has served as President of the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Fox Valley and has been an active leader of many other local organizations. |
