Attorney DeLeers to participate in "Dancing with Our Stars"

Peterson, Berk & Cross attorney, Deb DeLeers, will be participating in the "Dancing with Our Stars" event for the American Red Cross of Northeast Wisconsin. As part of her commitment, she'll be spending the next four months learning two ballroom dances which will be performed on February 15, 2014 at the KI Center in Green Bay. She will also be raising funds to support the mission of the American Red Cross in our community.

How many people die because of medical mistakes?

People in Wisconsin might be curious to hear about how many people died because of medical mistakes in United States hospitals each year. However, pinpointing the number of deaths caused by medical errors is difficult. It seems that each time new research regarding the issue is released the numbers get worse.

Wisconsin woman charged in fatal crash

Prosecutors in Wisconsin recently announced that they have charged a woman with homicide by drunken driving following an accident that took the life of a 52-year-old Lanark woman on the morning of Sept. 15. According to law enforcement officials, the woman killed as a result of the accident was a passenger in her son's automobile. Their car was hit by the 23-year-old suspect as they pulled out of a driveway near Stevens Point.

Peterson, Berk & Cross Staff to Participate in Fox Cities Marathon

This weekend many will be participating in the Community First Fox Cities Marathon, including some members of the Peterson, Berk & Cross staff! Our office manager, Julie Kaepernick, will be participating in the half marathon, alongside her sister, Chris, and niece, Emily. Julie's niece has been recognized as one of the Great Women of the Race for the work she has done to promote Destination Donation. Last year, Emily's husband went through a liver transplant, and since then Emily has run to create awareness about organ donation and to honor her husband's donor and family.

Deaths and injuries in Wisconsin car accident

Two women were traveling east on State Highway 16 in a black Nissan when their car left the road and crossed over the median of the highway where they ran into an oncoming vehicle. The accident occurred in Waukesha County on Sept. 9. Both the women in the Nissan died as a result of the crash.

Ribbon Cutting & Open House

Yesterday afternoon we had a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house at our Green Bay office, located at 300 North Broadway, in Suite 1A of the Smet Construction Building. Medication errors can be avoided

Medication errors are by far the most common mistakes hospitals make and they can be deadly. Experts believe that about one million medication errors happen every year, resulting in about 7,000 fatalities. These numbers could fall considerably if hospitals would update their technology.
